The Begbie View Elementary Parent Advisory Council (BVE PAC) supports BVE events, activities, equipment and more throughout the year….and you might not be aware that every BVE parent is a member of the PAC.
Thank you to the PAC who purchased 2 ping pong tables for BVE! They have been enjoyed by many already!

Canada Dental Benefit

The Government of Canada has implemented the Canada Dental Benefit, designed to help Canadian families access dental care. The first benefit period was a success, with 50% of eligible children in British Columbia—34,260—receiving the benefit. That’s something to smile about!

The second and final benefit period will help cover dental care costs between July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024, and we want to make sure that all eligible families know about the benefit and how to apply. Even families who applied during the first benefit period can re-apply for the final benefit period.

District Grade Activities:

Each year the School District supports a variety of activities within the community for each grade to participate in. Grade 3 and 6 students will head to Revelstoke Mountain Resort for Alpine skiing/snowboarding instruction with the RMR ski school. The Grade 4’s will be heading to Mt. MacPherson for Nordic ski lessons with the Revelstoke Nordic club coaches. Grade 1s will be going skating at the Forum, and Grade 7s will get a chance to try Curling! The school district provides financial support for the programs and therefore there is no fee for students for any of these activities. We are very grateful to our partners at the City, RMR, and the Nordic Club for supporting these programs with volunteers and coaching!

Grade (5), 6 and 7 Basketball

The basketball season has begun for Grade 6s and 7s, and this year there are some Grade 5s who have been invited to play too! Girls practice Tuesday and Thursday at lunch, as well as Wednesday mornings. Boys practice Mondays and Wednesdays after school, as well at Tuesday mornings. Both teams have games on Thursdays from 3:00 until about 4:15 throughout the District. A huge thank you to Ms. Floyd and Ms. Wall for coaching the girls, and to Mr. Uremovich and Ms. Langlois for coaching the boys, and to Ms. Schutz, Mr. Layco and Mr. Shea for refereeing!
